Long-term Preservation Medium for Hepatic Cells (KRYO PRO™)
Versions
"Kryo Pro" is our global name for cell cryopreservation media. Variations in cryo-protecting and functional cell outcomes are attributed to many factors including initial tissue qualities and native cell performances. Due to cellular diversity (phenotypic differences), cell responses to cryoprotectant media are unique. Cell background differences may include age, gender, DMI, diabetic, hypertensive, steatotic levels, and others; each with specific cryo support needs.
Thawing Medium for Hepatic Cells (KRYO THAW™)
Versions
"Kryo Thaw" is our global name for cell cryopreservation thawing media. "Kryo Thaw" product goals are to improve cryopreserved post-thaw cell efficacies. More information is available in our Kryo Thaw brochure.
Kryo Thaw I and/or II is now available in "ready to use" centrifuge tubes (15 or 50 ml) or larger container formats.

Cryopreservation Background: In many instances, freezing techniques are used to preserve living cells. Unfortunately, the cryopreservation and recovery (thaw) of some cells has proven to be quite troublesome. During tissue procurement and cell processing, cells are subjected to relatively harsh conditions, followed by freeze-thaw cycles that result in decreased cell survival rates. Techniques of cryopreservation may induce three modes of cell decay:
KRYO PRO™ and KRYO THAW™ are medium buffers used to help reduce cell decay responses. Subsequently, for post-thaw activities, plating efficiencies are influenced by cryo-components. These buffers are formulated to help meet the "off-the-shelf" cell demand; as cryopreserved cells are an ideal product choice.
